IT'S NOT REALLY ABOUT THE HUNTING, IS IT?

No, not Dick Cheney today. Larry Summers. First a little useless vitriol. If Kelso had been a President of Harvard University who had also been its youngest tenured professor and by all accounts an excellent steward of the United States Treasury Department, AND Laura Ingraham were chomping Kelso's Hebrew National, then it would be Laura fucking Ingraham out there representing Kelso's views and not the other way around. Not terribly manly, there, Larry. For that alone, you deserved the boot.

Kelso has no idea what kind of a president of Harvard Mr. Summmers was. Kelso, having been rejected by HBS (unlike our glorious president), just..err..doesn't spend that much...err time...err thinking about it. Well, actually he's pretty glad about that little fact. Can you imagine learning accounting with the "case method"? The standard Miegs & Miegs textbook worked just fine for us non-HBS dudes and dudettes, thank you very much. But isn't this whole Larry Summers thing just another chance for the elite to get pissed off that despite all the money and all the Federalist Society bullshit, they just can't crack either culture or the academy and they're pissed that the Left-Wing Professariat and it's African-American stooges and lazy, shiftless students have won again? But Kelso kids.

Maybe Summers was great and Kelso isn't in a real big hurry to spend his down time with Cornel West but for Christ's sakes...If you're an 18 year-old kid at Harvard or Stanford, you've taken all the "Touchstones Of Western Civilization" stuff already in high school and could easily place out of a core requirement with one two-hour test. Aren't you free to study what you like at the university? David Brooks, never a favorite around here, does make three good points, however: (1) Liberal Arts and Humanities courses are better vocational training than vocational training courses are (2) The oppotunity to study abroad is a great thing (3) Everyone should take a statistics class. Too fucking bad Brooks, Friedman and the rest of the wimpitariat forgot all of theirs.

This is another one of those J versus N fights that we REALLY, REALLY don't need, isn't it?

A couple of final points, if the White Gentile Elite and it's Jewish Intellectual Enablers are so fucking smart, and the African-American Studies Departments are so useless, then why do they have such an investment in everybody believing that an invisible man in the sky created everything 5000 years ago? How stupid is that? But let's put a real fine point on it, if all good material for scholarship stopped with the 19th Century, why then is all of Wall Street based upon The Theory Of Finance which did not come into being until after World War II? If we are supposed to turn off the study of the arts with the Impressionists, let's turn off the study of finance with Graham and Dodd, yeah?

A note to David Brooks, Thomas Friedman, etc.: people who actually USE applied statistics think you're a bunch of tourists.

Larry Summers and Cornel West will both be fine. Kelso's wondering if he'll find any plays at Laurel today.
