Note On My Favorite Topic

When McCain is using the name "Hussein" in every speech and telling racist jokes and the press is lapping it up and Obama's stuck kind of sort of agreeing with McCain and he's down 20 with two weeks to go, please don't expect any help from this corner. I'll be watching it for entertainment value. I'm very curious to see how Gumdrops will handle a really vicious campaign with the press against him this time. And -- oh baby -- if you think Clinton has used race against Obama, just wait an see what Walnuts has in store for him. And boy o boyo, I'm glad I'm living outside the U.S. because all the quiche-eaters are going to have a rather unpleasant rebellion on their hands should Walnuts win this.

Does any knee-jerk liberal really think that a very disappointed African-American can tell the difference between the knee-jerk liberal and the Republican? But don't worry, the cops are always there to protect the knee-jerk liberals from the mongrels...so you poor deluded bastards will probably be safe. It still might not be a bad idea to go visit Mom in the suburbs, though.

It may well be like if OJ Simpson got convicted. But IN EVERY CITY AND TOWN. And for a real principle like the Simi Valley acquittal of the cops who beat motorist Rodney King? No, it'll be because some rich consevative kid lost an election to a rich conservative old man. It'll make entertaining viewing on Cable Onda; that's for sure.

It's not my fight anymore. I "guess" Obama's better than McCain. How could I know, though? I'd like to think Obama's got a more humane plan than McCain has. How could I know, though?

So, take it up with David Shuster and Chris Matthews. I'll be sitting this one out.

I don't think I'm really in the mood to forgive and forget. I'll remember being insulted for my age (which is one month older than Gumdrops') and for my partisanship and for the language I speak these days. I'll remember the Pat Robertson thing. And the Donny McClurkin thing. And all the rest of it.

Maybe, I'll remember the time Obama really failed the test of the "contents of his character." Something really nasty is brewing up in Republicanland. McCain debuted a theme he's likely to use throughout if Obama is the nominee: trashing Michelle Obama for lack of patriotism. That's pretty low, but not unexpected. I also happen to like Michelle Obama. She's certainly not a pompous ass like her husband and she's probably a little sharper. So, let's see how Gumdrops handles this because McCain and Lieberman have kind of been his senatorial heroes. Will "getting past the partisan bickering of yesterday" include letting an attack on his wife go unanswered? And if he answers it strongly will the media shut the fuck up about Bill Clinton already? Or will the worm turn on Barack Obama in that moment? There's time left on the clock. We'll see.

Barack Obama can't do anything for me but leave me alone. And why do I feel that's not exactly in the Pat Robertson/Donny McClurkin/Colin Powell/Joe Lieberman plan?

So, it's kind of a Hobson's Choice. I'll choose to not choose, I think.
