ALL YARMULKE AND NO SHVANTZ

In this holiest of holiest times we continue with our themes things Jewish, things Latin and things bellicose.

On past posts, Kelso has lamented that Joe Lieberman is the face of Jewish America to the world. Jerry Seinfeld works better but we're stuck with Lieberman at least as far as politics is concerned. Moreover, there's lots of Jewish left-wing talk about with Yom Kippur on the way, Holy Joe has lots to atone for. Tempting, tempting, but...Joe Lieberman's a coward and cowardice is not a sin, per se, merely a character flaw. Given Lieberman's stunning lack of concern for either the fate of Israel or the fate of the many, many Jews who still live in Iran, he's certainly reprehensible, but not a sinner. Just an asshole. And a pussy. And a traitor and something of a Pharisee. Hence, the title of the post.

It could be worse. The face of Jewish America to the world could be Elliot Abrams. He is a war criminal. He is a monster. He belongs in prison for life. Unlike Lieberman, Abrams is actually GANGSTER. He was deeply involved in all of the ill-shit in 1980s Latin America and knew damned well what Kelso was getting at with regard to AIPAC and campesinos and moving lots of coca and Colombian, Peruvian, Bolivian and Uruguayan shekels into hard currency. He is a killer and unlike even in Lieberman's perverted version couldn't give a rat's ass about being Jewish or any other thing.

It was always a Crips & Bloods thing for Abrams. Was "Dutch" Schultz going to let some tribal loyalty stop him from killing another Jew? For Abrams it was being down for his flag not his tribe. No, proto-Anti Semites, NOT the Israeli flag, but the flag of his crime family. See Once Upon A Time In America for details. In Colombia. In the rest of Latin America. In Israel. In South Africa. Maybe Little Miss South Carolina was unwittingly onto something. Jews were in a very strange position in apartheid South Africa as they are in Andean South America. The traditional 70/30 Left-Right split obtained but that didn't prevent an element of the community from being involved in all sorts of ill stuff whether in service of Left or Right or self. Elliot Abrams is truly all shvantz and no yarmulke. Gotta have a little of both. Or you're just not human. In some insane way, Jack Abrahamoff seems a bit more human than either Lieberman or Elliot Abrams.

So Kelso takes back some of what he wrote earlier. Better to show the pussy Lieberman to the world than the monstrous Abrams, because the good options -- even Seinfeld for that matter -- are really not available as far as the MSM are concerned. We'd like to nominate Feingold but that's not going to happen.

Oh, and everything we've said about Lieberman goes for Thomas Friedman as well.
