Here's a link to a column which refers to and analyzes Bill Clinton's criticisms of the Obama myth. See. I haven't been making any of this up. I am putting everyone on their honor, however, to read the "boring" post on Colombia before reading this little gem. Call it a reward for patience.

It's a great fucking piece. But you are all on your honor. Uribe first, mmmKAY?
Velly, velly rich follow-up here. Obama sees the writing on the wall and all of a sudden, what? Mr. Post-Racial accuses the CLINTONS of all people of being racists? And some conservative prick at Politico believes it? Now, now, Senator Obama this is not very post-racial of you, no no no. Can't we all agree that Obama is the real crybaby and needs to go to his room tonight without Bill Cosby's Jell-O pudding?

I remember Ben Smith very well from the New York Observer and The News. Stone cold conservative. Huge Giuliani fan and not exactly the most -- um -- "sensitive" political reporter to some of the -- um -- "sensitive" issues in Brooklyn and Queens.

well ... i'll read the columbia post first. but ONLY if you promise not to say "mmmKAY?" any more.
only if you spell the name of the country correctly
I like the "South Park" touch to some serious stuff. I read the Colombia material and understood some of it. Thanks for the link to the Tribune article. I've been wondering why the media have been treating Obama as if he was created (by them, I guess) in 2004. I was curious about the whole Chicago machine and Obama's relationship to it.
fu kelso.
jajaja...now, now anita, why are you still wedded to the "tired partisan politics of yesteryear"?
Thanks, HM. I guess I was 1-1 on my "South Park" reference. That's cool. Glad you made an effort with the South American stuff. I am well aware that it's tough sledding especially if it really doesn't affect you.
I was hoping to get a tip of the derby from you for my endorsement of your man Ron Paul. I surely disagreed with some of the extreme elements of his platform but he was one of just a few candidates (to be fair, Clinton is not one of them) with some very interesting ideas which MUST have a serious airing. Peace, personal freedom, low and simple taxes. Meaty issues, no?
I also didn't appreciate the media's sort of calling him some kind of religious nut-case (like Bush and Obama aren't?) without allowing him some time to express some nuance on the subject. I've read some of what he's written about religion and while I'm an atheist, I've found his views to be consistent and sincere and not as adamantine as most Southern Republicans' are.
