You really can't make this shit up. You really can't. Please read this:

There are so many, many absurd elements to this. It's just what's making this campaign so delightful to watch from the sidelines and far, far away from the repellent USA.
Woodshed time for Senator Clinton:
HOW COULD YOU BE SO STUPID AS TO LET THAT DEMENTED OLD BAT OUT OF THE ATTIC? I'm absolutely in awe on all levels as to how retarded the Clinton campaign is. First of all, how she could have gotten fooled by media into thinking that Bill Clinton was a liability is beyond my comprehension. If The Big Dog had any chance at all to advise his wife keep Geraldine Ferraro in an insane asylum, on lock-down, on intravenous feeding, he would have taken it. Geraldine Ferraro is insane. 5 years ago I had a summer-house catty-corner from hers and I'd see her in the morning walking to the beach muttering to herself.
What the fuck is going on here? Really? Of course, David Axelrod is right and Clinton is responsible for everything anyone in an official capacity says on her behalf. I'll give both Obama and Axelrod plenty of credit for restraint here.
It's frustrating for Clinton, I get it. The media until about three weeks ago has been doing everything it could to ruin her campaign. Of course, Obama's had a rocking-chair ride. Of course, Axelrod and Obama checkmated Clinton on race before South Carolina. Of course, the media let Obama get away with Donny McClurkin's homophobia and Obama' s own problems there. Of course, Jesse Jackson, Jr's idiocy about Clinton's tears for herself but not for the victim's of Katrina should have been called-out when Obama couldn't even be bothered to weigh in on Katrina and was neutral on Jena 6. Of course, David Shuster got a free pass for making his vile remarks about Chelsea Clinton.
Big fucking deal. Wake up, Hillary, and welcome to professional football.
I know this much. Senator Obama is in this position basically as a rookie in national politics because of his brains, his ambition and his ability to pick up and assimilate political skill as he goes. The guy has gone from being one of the least gifted local politicians in Chicago to being one of the best nationally. In a very short time. With or without media help. He has an ability to learn and a desire to win.
The media is always looking for a centrist or conservative darling to beat the cennstrist or conservative Clintons up with. That's their role in this. It just so happens that Obama's half African. The media certainly had no particular affinity for Greek-Americans when they tried to promote Paul Tsongas over Bill Clinton. They had no particular affinity for Southern Christian Nazis when they tried to beat Bill up with Ross Perot...oh wait, sorry, scratch that. They have a huge affinity for Southern Christian Nazis, but I was just saying....
Letting Ferraro do this before a primary and before THE primary in Pennsylvania is not only idioitic on a political level, it's just plain old racism. Or maybe it was something as stupid as letting granny out of the attic because of disorganziation. It doesn't matter. It's as bad as anything Steve King said last Sunday.
I'm not done yet. If Clinton wanted to use identity politics to fuck with Obama, she had the golden opportunity to do so after her big Ohio win. She could have made it a class issue. She could have tried to peel away some core African-American voters by making Obama look like an indifferent conservative with only the interests of affluent White suburbanites. I don't know if that would have worked or not but, gee whiz, Geraldine Ferraro and racial shit...my god is that stupid. Clinton and Ferraro belong in the movie Idiocracy.
And it gets worse. She's still on the ridiculous "Commander-In-Chief" thing. Fuck it, Clinton, you're not running for Dr. Strangelove, you're running for the Democratic nomination for President. Obama clearly gets it. What Clinton is thinking is beyond me. I had always assumed that Obama would be the one to agree with everything McCain said. But it's Clinton who's doing it and if she continues it will cost her the nomination for sure and maybe worse. All I know is that if the key issue for the Democratic nominee is who's the "Commander Guy," this whole planet is in for some big problems. If, perhaps, Clinton's polling has shown her that "Commander-In-Chief" is the big issue with all Democratic voters, then I know that the majority of Americans are either retarded sadistic or both. If this approach works for Clinton in the long run, it will be just bizarre is all.
I am going on about this particular issue because in case no one's noticed, Bush has fucking cashiered the one sane American left, Admiral William Fallon. So, who's going to be the new head of CentCom, Oliver North?
And Clinton really is making some absurd GI-Joe-with-the-Kung-Fu-grip argument the centerpiece of her campaign? Didn't John Kerry blow an unloseable election that way? I am literally laughing my ass off right now. I couldn't make up anything this absurd. She's supposed to be the hands-on manager and can't manage a family grocery store it seems. Sooner or later, Obama will if pushed develop a coherent set of ideas and a managerial touch. I hope that it is a good set of ideas.
This stuff is priceless. No fair Obama being so patient and reasonable. Come on Barack, be a buddy, bring back McClurkin and give me some more laughs. Do something really silly. Give me a laugh or two.
Right now, son, you are looking awfully presidential. But the religion stuff does still scare me a bit.
But what's the difference? So, if it's Obama who starts WWIII, I have either Rick Warren or Revernd Wright do my "rapture conversion" instead of John Hagee.
But, gee whiz, where did my army of five readers go? Guess that invitation to the Viacom/Coca-Cola/Thompson's-Water-Seal live progressive blog-a-thon got lost in the mail, too? Probably because the system of "correos" is so bad in Panama. Mostly, people use messengers locally or DHL for foreign mailings. But I'm sure that invite will show up any day now. Sure.
Crickets.
Shit. OK, I get it. Dick Nixon time again, as in you won't have Dick Nixon to kick around, anymore. Back to real work and the NLO-Omaha games at the Ven and if my back's feeling OK I'll go hit some balls at the driving range instead of this. See ya on the Rialto. How funny is this? I spent a lifetime in schools in the "in-crowd" and I'm the biggest fucking loser on the blogosphere. This hobby really exposes you sometimes, I gotta say.

Kelso,
One of your five reporting in. I'm here for you bro. Sorry for being AWOL.
It's sad to see Clinton's campaign implode the way it has, but now that's getting close to crunch time, I wonder if she should simply fold up here tent, and get in line behind Obama, for better or worse.
My feeling and I echo many in the blogsphere is that the longer this plays out, the harder it will be to elect a Democratic POTUS come November. McCain is beatable, but not if the Dems keep looking like political amateurs. And, no, it doesn't help when one of your leading lights (Spitzer) gets caught with his pants down.
We love you, too, Kelso.
Spartacus:
Thanks for the visit. It looks very depressing, but I have to admit LOVING this Eliot Spitzer scandal because that guy was a first-class villain. Take it from someone who has been shaken down every year since Spitzer's career began.
His whole raison d'etre in politics was to get all of NYRA for himself, his father, Steve Swindal and George Steinbrenner. 1000s of acres of real estate in Jamaica, Elmont and Saratoga Springs but the gambling franchise.
I voted for Suozzi in the Democratic primary and for whoever was on the Libertarian line in the general election. The Wall Street thing was a sham. Itsy-bitsy fines that amounted to rounding errors for big firms. He fucked with Grasso just because he liked fucking with people not out of principle.
McCain is indeed beatable, but I've come to the conclusion that it doesn't matter. I've written a post about it. If I vote, I'll cast my last vote as an American citizen for McKinney if she's on the ballot on the Green Party line. Or if I'm too lazy to go to the embassy, I'll just skip it.
Clinton and Obama have very little time to show me any reason to vote for either one. Clinton had kind of given me a reason or two but this new business of "commander-in-chief" just make me nauseous. And Obama? He's improving on the stump but he's still peddling Jesus and Non-partisanship which means caving into everything the Republicans want.
And this blogging has just gotten to be a chore again for no gain.
I've gotten involved in politics here and I'm pretty happy with the way things have been going. Balbina Herrera got elected PRD head, which makes her a certainty for President or mayor of Panama City, either of which are equally good.
I just don't see either Clinton or Obama running a strong enough campaign to beat McCain. Both are already trying to see who's the better Republican. Awful.
On the other hand, if Obama can pacify a restive progressive and Black electorate, who am I to complain? I've been long crude oil and short dollars. War does nothing but good for me. Just so long as Colombia and Venezuela don't fight.
One of the reasons I was so unhappy when Edwards dropped out was because that left Clinton and Obama. Neither of them make me happy. I think both are beatable but maybe together they have a chance. However, with the meaness and bitterness between them right now that doesn't seem possible. Maybe the Democrat party doesn't really want to win this race and they are just toying with us. I felt that way with Kerry last time too. Oh fuck it, it's just our future and the fate of the Earth hanging in the balance and maybe it's already too late.
Libs:
I came into it loving Kucinich and I never really bought into Edwards because he was expressing viewpoints that he'd never held before in his life. I prefer Clinton simply on the remaining American issues that affect me: FRANK-PORTER-BERKLEY and what I expect her South America policy to be. Obama's religious thing and homophobia freaks me out a little but that's probably because I'm a city-boy and while "gay" isn't anything weird to me, nor Islam for that matter, nor Catholicism, nor High-Church Protestantism, even though I'm Jewish by ancestry and atheist by belief system, I really don't get Fundamentalist Christianity.
I well understand all of Clinton's failings. She's in the pocket of the insurance and drug lobby as well as AIPAC. I find Obama's lack of interest in the issues very troubling given his obvious intelligence. Just today I saw a 10-minute interview with him on CNN letting him essentially speak freely on any issue he cared to and he was way worse than my son's 2nd grade class is. Was pretty much indifferent to every issue and needed index cards to respond.
Given that, is it so difficult to imagine one of his "religious" advisors and Colin Powell telling him as president to do something really, really bad?
I'm rather peeved with the US overall for reasons too numerous to go into, so I think I'm either going to skip it or cast my last vote as an American for McKinney on the Green Party.
I am not so sure any of this shit is by accident. It is easier to get folks to say what you can't. And if all you have to do after shit is said is say you don't feel that way and think that is enough distancing then you win. But, it is backfiring. People are atleast making an attempt to connect the dots. Hillary is starting to look like an asshole. I don't think they counted on that part.
Agree LOVEBABZ, but eventually OBAMA does, too. Think he did today, actually.
They are playing for keepsies, darling.
I fault neither for trying to win. I fault them when they're stupid about it.
