Uh-Oh

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080302/wl_nm/venezuela_colombia_dc

OK. I'm going to leave all this Obama/Clinton/McCain stuff in everybody else's hands.

This is a massive problem here. All the rest is just talk talk. I tried my best to be entertaining in the last post and have a nice diversion from my work, but a pending refugee crisis and third front in the "war on terror" takes precedence.

Honestly: Obama's a right-wing cretin, a religious freak, hates queers and if a single idea entered his head it would die of loneliness and that's a pity because he's got the world of talent. Hillary Clinton is a smart Ronald Reagan. John McCain is a Nazi but slightly more sadistic. What a choice!

Have fun with the race thing. Have fun with the "hope" thing. The symbols, the "themes," who hates queers the most. Who's the most dedicated to NOT providing health-care. And whatever else it is. Irrelevant to me as of 1 hour ago. Watch American Idol and make thinking illegal or whatever it is you insane people do best.

Not interested in the slightest -- guess put me down for Nader or McKinney but I'm not voting -- until this is resolved and Bush's malign hand is kept still.

American politics is a circus and it's fun to write about. This is a mess which directly affects me. If anyone wants to know what the real storyhere is...go to RawDawgBuffalo and read Torrance's post on Afghanistan because that's what's about to happen here.

As I know more, I may or may not present it. It depends on how well-behaved I think you all are.

Bye.

I was torn between responding to your (Minus 700 whoops Minus 800) but his caught my eye and gave me pause.

You have to give some spin on this. or will it be dangerous for you?

KELSO'S NUTS said...

No, but we're about to have god-knows how many refugees silling over ALL borders and it's a question of days before Bush gets involved. And not on the side of peace.

But LOVEBABZ, please feel free to comment on the other post just for grins. I could use one. I'm afraid to turn on the local news or go La Prensa online!

Maybe it is best to bury my head in the sand and pretend that only the USA counts because...

There's plenty of spin, though, to give. I know exactly what's going on and why and what the various plausible outcomes are but I'd have to write at least 15 8 1-2x11 pages to cover it all. It touches on everything that's happened in the world over the past 60 years. Don't forget we got a huge member of OPEC 200 miles South of me as the crow flies.

And you live there, why?

1) Former Senate Majority Leader Frist, Senators McCain & Kyl, Representative Goodlatte, the Department Of Justice of the 43rd President of the United States. Representatives Frank (D-MA), Porter (R-NV) and Berkley (D-NV) have no power.

2) Business partners and mother of Kelso Jr don't take "no" for an answer...Everyone has to earn his or her daily bred and a workaholic like me also does it for pleasure

3) Gambling and finance mecca

4) Western Europe, Canada, Oceania, and South Africa too expensive

5) I speak the language and "pass"

6) The government is center-left and all of the social issues which divide the US are settled in the Western Euopean way: national health, contraception of all forms sold over the counter, etc..plus very low taxes

7) Complete telecommunications and bank privacy

8) Agnostic on "War On Terror"

9) No extradition with the USA

10) More relaxed atmosphere with regard to "morality" and "vice"; Catholicism is "official religion" but has no official role in government and a plurality of beliefs and non-beliefs obtain without judgement

12) Cool people, fun stuff to do

13) At 5' 7" tall, I'm normal height for a man here!

14) Never cold

15) Very good fishing

16) I've made a lot of friends here

17) All the same products I'm used to plus all sorts of local goodies available in large, ultra-clean, modern supermarkets...

18) Instead of just offering opinions in the wind about politics, I've met most of the major political figures here and have become involved

19) Incredibly luxurious and commodious housing at prices you wouldn't believe

...I could go on...mostly, I hope Uribe and Chavez can sit down next week and resolve this before Bush gets involved and then all hell breaks loose with Ecuador and Bolivia siding with Venezuela and Colombian left, Peru siding with Colombian right and USA, massive refugee problem...Argentina, Brazile and Chile all getting pulled in on the opposite side of the US, making it almost imperative for a full-scale invation of the continent...and maybe, just maybe, with an election looming, Panama can stay out of it, although the US would force us into it and we'd be on the other side with Ecuador, Bolivia, etc, as well...

Ok, I'm popping out of my own hiatus to let you know that I am staying informed about this and immediately thought about you when I saw what might happen. I've got three surgeries and a trip to the ER going on between my two parents, as well as a cancer scare with my grandmother and a heart scare with my grandfather. So, yeah... I'm preoccupied. But I ask you to please stay in touch and let your blog buddies know what's going on. I will be paying attention, even if you don't hear from me that much in the next few weeks.

SR:

I'll try to keep everyone informed. And you know that you're getting the real shit from me. If this goes on a while you'll get a propaganda bombardment. Just remember what it's about: CRUDE OIL, COCAINE, and REAL ESTATE.

(Sigh) you got my intellectual juices flowing...I am all in! Now I have to stay connected to your blog--which is really cool and I will have to work harder to keep up with you.

Coming here is like working on my PhD. Shit.

Why are all the sexy smart men a world away?

DAVE: I was a NYC resident not terribly long ago and it seemed thinking -- completely absent during Giuliani era through late 2003 -- is yet in relatively short supply. You have to look for it.

Albany and the upstate college towns shouldn't be so bad, si o no?

Also, Dave, give me links to your radio and TV spots, please. At lesat I know I can depend on you to think.

LOVEBABZ: Having lost weight down here, I look even more than ever like a Robert Downey, Jr., with a darker complexion and less hair! But I tease.

I could give you a really long answer to your question about men but instead I'll leave you with one of the most perceptive comments I've ever read in print.

In 1989, Jimmy Breslin wrote in his column in New York Newsday that the two problems in America were "race and loneliness." That struck me at the time. I'd never thought about it that way.

If I had been reading with my finance/gamlbing eyes instead of my academic ones, I'd have made a fortune in LOV stock.

T: To the question, I'll answer it with some easy homework. Take a look at a map and notice the topography.

To the connotation, I'll answer it by saying that Kelso-pere and Kelso-mere did not raise a stupid boy. And I was a real, real good pub debater.

Think more in terms of the map and think about water and knots-per-hour and less in terms of oh you know....(LOL)
