Finally, here's a completely non-racial, non-ethnic simile. Barack Obama reminds me of no one so much as ex-heavyweight fighter Vitali Klitschko (White, Ukrainian, Jewish). Looks great in training. Looks great at the weigh-in. Looks great pre-fight. Perfectly sculpted. But short of any sort of punching power, he certainly did have a jaw like a Hummel figurine. That'll work. Like, no.
I have to admire Obama and Axelrod, though. He's still a 1/2 favorite to win this thing even though his whole vacuity has allowed the other corporatist Democrat to seem like the "working-class" candidate! And the media still laps it up, spits it back up, and makes fun of poor people in the process. Good idea to run a Democratic campaign by making fun of poor, elderly folks. That Obama can pull this off with no ideas and the most boring and repetitive stump speech in recent memory and a strong right-wing vibe is amazing. Attack homosexuals and unemployed Slavic-American factory workers. Now, that makes sense. That's a hopeful strategy. And what? He's out-AIPAC-ing Clinton on Israel and at the same time complaining that there's some kind of Jewish conspiracy including Lorne Michaels and (Obama's biggest fan) Wolf Blitzer to destroy him? Americans are just insane is all.
The media will say that his lies about he economic policy man's visit to Canada and the start of the Rezko trial cost him Ohio and Texas. That's bullshit. All politicians lie and EVERY young politician NEEDS a Rezko to get started. There's nothing wrong with that. It's part of the vaina. It just not part of a choir-boy's vaina.

Probably. But I've yet to hear Obama call himself a "liberal." I've heard him call himself a "conservative". I've heard him call himself a "moderate." I've heard him call himself "an agent of change." But never "liberal." Or "progressive." Or "left-wing."
So, he's not guilty of hypocrisy. He deserves credit for being able to sell fascism, homophobia, and indifference to college students. Anybody who can do that is goooooood.
Any CEO will say that your sales force is your most important function and that a good salesperson should make as much as a top executive. At least, the CEOs who know what they're doing say that.
