Sorry Floppers, this is going to have to be a shorty. Online Poker Tourney goes off in a half-hour and tomorrow every track in the country runs.

Mrs. Kelso and Kelso, Jr., went to Cape Cod for the weekend, so Kelso made a bachelor's dinner of deli meats, provolone and celery heart salad. As he ate, he perused the Tissue Of Lies and came across a real winner. Yes, Elisabeth Bummiller is down on her knees again sucking. In a short piece "War Protestor Leaves Texas to See Ailing Mother," we get the who, what, when, where and why, but the final words -- in his own words -- go to President Cheney. I can't do better that Elisabeth and Dick: "In a speech earlier Thursday in Springfield, Mo., Vice President Dick Cheney acknowledged the 'irreplaceable losses' of families of soldiers who have been killed in Iraq but insisted that the war would help guarantee freedoms both in the United States and the Middle East. [emphasis Kelso's]

"In this difficult and necessary cause we have lost some of our finest Americans," Mr Cheney said at a convention of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. "That loss is irreplaceable and no one can take away from the sorrow that has come to the families of the fallen."

Jesus Christ, Kelso sez give Cheney the Nobel Peace Prize right away. As for Elisabeth Bumiller, Kelso could go on at length. Matt Taibbi has covered this ground beautifully in his annual Hack-A-Thon. Make sure never to miss him. Sadly, he's leaving The New York Press, but his stuff is archived there.

Now, on to Elisabeth Bumiller. Tell Kelso, what does it feel like to look in the mirror each morning as you vainly attempt to make yourself presentable (ad hominem attack)? How does it feel to flack for the murderous Bush administration? I reckon you'll probably get a nice gig at Heritage when it's all over or maybe a good Right-Wing PR job. Your chances as a Pulitzer are slim and none and I just saw Slim sneak out the back-door with your doppel-ganger, Judi Wilgoren. Repent, I say. There's still time. Or do ugly chicks just get so mesmerized by W that something just, well, happens, to the point that you'll let him macque you out to Cheney? To Wolfowitz?? Kelso wouldn't touch you after 6 beers and 2 double Jameson's, and Kelso is nothing. He's a pathetic little blogger who's nothing more than a gnat on a dog's dick.

You really cover Washington for the Tissue Of Lies? Unfuckingbelievable. What hath God and Pinch wrought?

Cindy Sheehan is the Ghandi of this generation and Dick Cheney is a greedy psychopath. Hyperbole, yes. But not TOO far off.

Ahh, Cindy Sheehan. This brings up a point Kelso has been pondering for the last few hours, having listened to Malloy and heard both sides of the argument. In his last posting, Kelso posited that the USA's last, best hope may be it's military. Kent State and Jackson State aside, would the regular servicemen and women and the brass stop the imposition of martial law by the Bush administration, or would they fire upon their friends and neighbors? Kelso leans to the positive. He's heard compelling arguments to the contrary, though. As long as the Republicans can keep stealing elections and the Democrats do nothing, martial law won't be necessary. Corporatism is already here and as Huey Long predicted we do call it "Democracy."

And is our wont here at Kelso's Nuts, we move again to the less bellicose subject of boxing. An A+ source likes Vargas in 6. Kelso has no reason to doubt. What do you reckon, David Remnick?

Kelso's Nuts loves you all.

You know, given the lack of competence with which the White House does most things, they have been really successful (under Clinton and Bush) at trading oil. First they filled the SPR at $20/bbl, and the financial cost of "acquiring" Iraq (see today's TOL op-ed page for details) will ultimately look cheap if the peak oil theory is coming true.

Of the 10 largest undeveloped oil fields in the world, no less than 3 are in Iraq. Think about that next time you fill up, Kelso.

Harvey:

Haven't looked at the TOL yet. Kelso's stomach's been a little off the last few days and there's only so much a man can take.

YOUR point is a good one, though. Kelso wouldn't call it "trading", I'd call it market manipulation -- probably a deal worked out with Saudi Arabia BEFORE 9/11.

As for filling up the Mrs. Kelso-mobile, Kelso's proud/sorry to say it's a 2000 Audi wagon (go Schroeder!) and gets over 30mpg. So, they can still keep it high. That's good for all sorts of other reasons (heh-heh).

What do the cunts (Scottish not sexist sense) in the Megachurches do, however, about their SUVs when the national average cracks $3/gal? Rush Limbaugh will tell them it's Clinton's fault. W will tell them it's the enviromental regulators' fault because refinement capacity is so low.

Kelso, more on this later when I have a few moments to spare and my brain is fully focused; but what the hell is this "ugly chicks" thing? Come onnnn, Dude ... how can we, your avid and devoted readers remain ... hmmm, well ... avid and devoted ... when we hear stuff like that spewing out of nutty orifice.

Once again, a crack in your armor and a clear exception to your avowed "love of all": Kelso's Nuts quite obviously DOES NOT love "ugly chicks."

G, can't we have one little corner of the whole wide world where a guy can make a joke, rant freely, or should I say filibuster vigilantly, without worrying about hurting someone's feelings?

Since Kelso likes conspiracy theories, here's mine: the oil from Iraq will resume coming out, and in great amounts, but first the US energy bill had to be passed during the panic of rising prices. When will the oil come? Just in time for the 2006 midterm elections, of course!

In order:

(1) G: Kelso appreciates beauty in all things and all people, inside and out. Anyone with a megaphone as big as Elisabeth Bumiller and has no soul and is complicit in the death of 2000 American soldiers, the maiming of 20,000 more, not to mention the death of 100,000+ innocent Iraqis. A fine feminist, Ms. Bumiller has done her best to trash Cindy Sheehan. Kelso reckons that Bumiller's even uglier inside than out. Once you throw in with the death machine, you lose all feminist benefit. She's a pig-woman. Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) is no one's Penelope Cruz on the outside, but she damn well is on the inside.

This is about war and peace. Leave the PC stuff where it belongs -- with the rest of the horse puckey.

(2) HARVEY: thanks for clarifying things. Kelso's a pretty strong feminist. Didn't he call Gloria Steinem ersatz in an earlier post? This IS in fact a corner where a guy can filibuster and bust balls at will. There are no sacred cows -- even Kelso himself. Kelso is MODESTLY endowed: 5 1-2, cut, reasonably thick. Nothing to write home about. He's also nobody's Tom Cruise. He has, however, opposed the war from the bounce and wishes its immediate end.

Like your conspiracy theory. May well save the Republic if true, and a very clever move on Cheney's part.

Guess you can file this under IT'S NOTHIN BUT A 'G' THING. Kelso has so few devoted fans that every one is precious. In his shock and awe that G missed the point, he missed your outstanding pun. The penny finally dropped and Kelso got the THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS reference. Deeply finessed, dude.

I made a subsequent, and relatively lengthy post as a follow-up. It seems to have gotten lost in the blogosphere.

But, yes, I guess it is a "G" thing. Guess I'm not up to the intellectual firepower of this blog.

Sigh.

G: Kelso's digging the spirited infield chatter out there.

Please repost your riposte.

OK.

Well, as I recall I noted that by taking exception to the "ugly chick" comment I wasn't being ultra PC or telling you I was offended or that in any way were my "feelings hurt." And I agreed that this is very much the place where a guy (or a girl by the way) can rant, rave and filibuster to one's heart's content. That's the beauty of the blogosphere.

However, I also noted to Harvey that I would assume that Kelso is fully aware that his blog is in the public domain. He's left it open to free and open commentary and discussion. So just as long as I am neither spamming nor being abusive, I feel I have a right to express my opinion. And, as well, if Kelso's Nutz was meant to be a curmudgeonly boys' club, then Kelso would have put up a sign reading "No Girls and No Non-Curmudgeonly Boys Allowed --- and THIS MEANS YOU!" Kelso is Nutty, but he's not THAT Nutz.

But back to the "ugly chick" comment. I wanted to note that Donald Rumsfeld is no George Clooney, and Carl Rove, well, his pig-like qualities make me cringe in horror. But no one comments on these mens' lack of aesthetic appeal, they comment on their evil policies and corrupt actions (which matter)--- but never their lack of sex appeal (which doesn't matter in the least). And why is that, may I ask?

--------

This is a repost of my riposte, but not as good as the first.

G:

Kelso's Nuts is indeed a public space not a club for Curmudgeons (though that's not a bad idea). One of the features of Kelso's Nuts is that we also go for the throats of the villains. Perhaps, in our our little way an effort to try to get the Democratic party to fight a little dirtier. Thus, Eggers gets called out for being a closet Conservative; Remnick's manhood is archly questioned; Rove's is directly questioned, so when a villainess appears on the scene, you goddamned right her hideous appearance gets it.

Funny you should mention George Clooney, but in one of the comment strings Kelso actually compared Jack Abramoff's appearance to George Clooney's. Kelso had been under the mistaken impression that Abramoff looked like a pudgy little Hasid thus was all set to take off on JA post-indictment on APPEARANCE as well as ethics and views.

Keep flopping the Nuts. And keep the commments coming because you are something of a curmudgeon yourself, Kelso's guessing.
